How to use this tool
- Select the first date of the two-week period and enter the employee or record name.
- Enter start and end times for working days and break lengths in minutes. Mark Overnight when a shift ends on the following day.
- Check each daily total and the weekly summaries. Resolve entries marked for checking before exporting CSV or PDF.
Example: one daytime shift and one overnight shift
A shift from 09:00 to 17:00 is eight hours before breaks. Subtracting 30 minutes leaves 7.5 decimal hours, which means seven hours and thirty minutes. A shift from 22:00 to 06:00 with Overnight selected and the same break also totals 7.5 hours.
| Shift | Break | Net time |
|---|---|---|
| 09:00–17:00 | 30 minutes | 7.5 hours |
| 22:00–06:00, overnight | 30 minutes | 7.5 hours |
What to check before you export
- This calculator totals entered time. It does not calculate wages, overtime premiums, payroll deductions or jurisdiction-specific rules.
- An overnight entry crosses one midnight. Split longer or unusual shifts into records that accurately reflect the time worked.
- Times are entered as wall-clock values; daylight-saving transitions and time-zone differences are not automatically resolved.
